Aliyev: Georgian and Azerbaijani peoples have lived in friendship
Tbilisi, April 6 (Hibya) – Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev emphasized the friendship and brotherhood between the peoples of the two countries during his visit to Georgia.
The state visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Georgia has begun.
According to a statement from the Azerbaijani Presidency, Aliyev was welcomed with an official ceremony at Tbilisi’s Sota Rustaveli International Airport.
The statement noted that Aliyev was received by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and that a military ceremony was held in his honor at the airport.
It was stated that bilateral relations and regional issues are expected to be discussed during the visit.
Aliyev, referring to relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia, said: “We always support each other in all international organizations.”
He also highlighted the ties between the two peoples, stating: “For centuries, the Georgian and Azerbaijani peoples have lived in friendship and brotherhood, and this tradition continues today.”
