Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced the launch of a new education program in Fiji as part of educational cooperation with Pacific countries, aimed at equipping local students with skills that will contribute to economic development.

Albanese said the program is intended to expand education and employment opportunities across the region, adding that Australia will continue its support for the Pacific.

Highlighting the transformative impact of education on individuals and communities, Albanese said: “Education changes lives. And Australia is changing lives here in Fiji. Today we launched a new program that will equip local students with the skills needed to strengthen the economy. We are creating more opportunities for the Pacific because when our region succeeds, Australia succeeds too.”
