Al-Thani signed the document of accession to the Board of Peace
Davos, January 22 (Hibya) – Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani signed the document regarding Qatar’s accession to the Board of Peace during a ceremony held in Davos.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani signed the document on the State of Qatar’s accession to the Board of Peace.
The ceremony was attended by U.S. President Donald Trump as well as many leaders and representatives of member states. Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Al-Thani, together with the foreign ministers of seven Arab and Islamic countries, stated that they welcomed the invitation extended by the U.S. President to their countries’ leaders to join the Board of Peace.
The statement reaffirmed the countries’ commitment to supporting the implementation of the Board’s mission as a transitional body, as outlined in the comprehensive plan to end the conflict in Gaza and adopted by United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803.
