Zelensky: Ukraine’s EU accession process should be accelerated
Kyiv, 15 May (Hibya) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called for accelerating Ukraine’s accession process to the European Union (EU), stating that one of Europe’s strongest responses to Russia’s attacks and aggressive stance would be to speed up Ukraine’s integration process.

Speaking at the EU Intergovernmental Conference, Zelensky said that the opening of negotiation chapters must be accelerated and stressed that Ukraine has already completed the necessary preparations.
Zelensky noted that Ukraine has had to make greater efforts than other countries on its path to the EU and argued that it deserves faster progress in the membership process.
He stated that Ukraine is ready to open all negotiation clusters and emphasized that all parties in Europe are aware of this, calling for the remaining five clusters to be opened without delay after the first one.
