Zelensky met with Syrian President Sharaa
New York, September 23 (Hibya) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he met with Syrian President Ahmed Sharaa in New York, signaling an intention to further develop cooperation between the two countries in the political, economic and security fields.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with Syrian President Ahmed Sharaa in New York as part of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. In a statement following the meeting, Zelensky recalled that Ukraine and Syria restored diplomatic relations a year ago during the United Nations General Assembly.
Zelensky said progress had been made over the past year in the political, economic and security fields, drawing attention to dialogue at the leaders’ level.
Zelensky said, “Ukraine remains open to further developing this cooperation and working together to ensure greater security in all areas and for every region.”
