Zelensky: Everyone at the Kyiv school attacked by Russia survived
Kyiv, October 1 (Hibya) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia attacked a school in Kyiv with a Shahed drone and that more than 100 students and over 60 teachers who were in a shelter during the attack survived.
Ukrainian President Zelensky said Russia attacked a school in Kyiv with a Shahed-type drone this morning.
In a post on social media, Zelensky said he spoke with the school principal and teachers after the attack, emphasizing that the most important thing was that everyone survived.
Zelensky said more than 100 students and over 60 teachers were in the shelter during the attack, adding that the coordinated actions of school staff helped save lives.
Zelensky said he instructed the Presidential Office team, the district administration, and the Ministry of Education and Science to ensure that the school is quickly restored for use and that its energy independence is secured.
Claiming that attacks on schools and kindergartens are used by Russia as a deliberate tactic targeting everyday life, Zelensky said work continues to strengthen air defenses to protect cities and residential areas from such attacks and to increase production of Ukrainian-made interceptors against jet-powered Shahed drones.
