Ukrainian President Zelensky issued a statement on Russia’s overnight attacks on different regions of Ukraine.

In a statement on his social media account, Zelensky said around 190 drones, along with ballistic missiles, were used in the attacks. He said the main target was energy infrastructure in Kyiv and the Kyiv region, adding that residential buildings were also damaged.

Zelensky said emergency and repair crews were continuing work to restore electricity and water services in the Kyiv region, adding that a grocery store in Ivankovychi was struck by a drone and a fire broke out in the area.

Zelensky said one person was killed after a warehouse building was hit in Kyiv. He added that critical infrastructure was targeted in the Zhytomyr, Mykolaiv, Kirovohrad and Rivne regions, while damage was also reported in the Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson and Cherkasy regions.

Zelensky said 14 people were injured and 5 people were killed across the country as a result of the attacks, adding that a child was among those killed.

Zelensky said Ukrainian air defense units intercepted some of the ballistic missiles, but some attacks reached their targets. He noted that new air defense support packages had been announced in recent days and thanked allied countries for air defense missiles and support for protecting Ukraine’s airspace.
