Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong emphasized the importance of the strategic and diplomatic ties between the two countries, stating that Australia has no closer partner and friend than Indonesia.

Referring to the high-level engagement between the two countries, Wong said: "Today, I welcomed Indonesia's Deputy Foreign Minister Havas to discuss the implementation of the historic Jakarta Treaty 2026, our shared interest in maritime security, and our support for the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea."

Highlighting the depth of the neighboring relationship and strategic partnership between the two countries, Minister Wong stated: "Australia has no closer partner and friend than Indonesia."
