Von der Leyen thanks teams battling wildfires
Brussels, August 1 (Hibya) – European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen thanked the countries supporting efforts to combat wildfires in France and Spain, as well as the teams working on the ground.
Von der Leyen said the European Commission is grateful to the countries that provided assistance to France and Spain this month through the European Union Civil Protection Mechanism.
Emphasizing that more than 300 firefighters on the ground demonstrated courage, dedication, and solidarity, von der Leyen said this solidarity is one of Europe's greatest strengths.
