Von der Leyen congratulates Nobel Prize in Medicine winners
Brussels, October 5 (Hibya) - European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen congratulated Peter Hegemann, Georg Nagel and U.S. scientist Karl Deisseroth on winning this year’s Nobel Prize in Medicine.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen issued a congratulatory message after Peter Hegemann, Georg Nagel and U.S. scientist Karl Deisseroth won this year’s Nobel Prize in Medicine.
Von der Leyen said the scientists’ research had marked an important advance in understanding the human brain. She said the researchers, also supported by Horizon Europe funding, had paved the way for future discoveries and added that their work could enable the development of treatments for conditions such as dementia, depression and addiction.
