Von der Leyen: Benin is an important EU partner in West Africa
Brussels, June 24 (Hibya) - European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen spoke about cooperation between Benin and the European Union, highlighting the country's strategic importance in West Africa.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated that Benin is one of the European Union’s key partners in West Africa, noting that the relationship is built on mutual trust and the goal of improving living standards.
Emphasizing that cooperation between the EU and Benin is based on a shared vision of development, von der Leyen said, “This relationship is founded on mutual trust and a common commitment to improving the quality of life for everyone.”
Von der Leyen added that this approach forms the basis of the European Union’s Global Gateway strategy, stating, “Together, we are investing in Benin.”
