U.S. stock markets posted mixed performance
Istanbul, June 5 (Hibya) - Leading indices in U.S. equity markets ended the day with mixed results.
Leading indices in U.S. stock markets closed the trading session with a mixed performance.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) gained 874.86 points, or 1.73 percent, to reach 51,561.93. The Russell 2000 Index, which represents small-cap companies, also rose 1.45 percent to 2,935.33.
The S&P 500 Index advanced 0.10 percent to 7,584.31, while the technology-heavy Nasdaq Index slipped 0.09 percent to 26,830.96.
The VIX Index, widely regarded as a measure of market volatility, remained flat at 15.40.
As a result, industrial and small-cap stocks posted gains, while technology shares recorded limited losses.
