UAE: Air defense counters threats from Iran
Abu Dhabi, March 17 (Hibya) - The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ministry of Defense announced that the sounds heard across the country were caused by air defense systems intercepting ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles.
The UAE Ministry of Defense confirmed that the country’s air defense is currently actively countering missile and drone attacks originating from Iran.
The statement noted that the explosion and siren-like sounds heard across the country were the result of air defense systems intercepting ballistic missiles, as well as fighter jets neutralizing drones and vessels.
Authorities urged citizens to comply with the issued safety and security instructions, emphasizing the importance of strictly adhering to them.
