Türk: Schools are vital for our future
New York, January 24 (Hibya) – UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk highlighted the importance of schools and called on society to unite its efforts.
UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Türk stated that schools are vital for the future.
However, noting that classrooms too often become targets in conflict settings, Türk said, “Students are recruited, teachers are threatened, and education is disrupted by violence and fear. We need all segments of society to unite their efforts so that we can protect education from the devastating effects of war.”
