Trilateral talks between Ukraine, Russia and the US conclude
Kyiv, January 24 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that the talks held between Ukraine, Russia and the United States in the United Arab Emirates have been concluded.
President Zelenskyy said that the delegations had submitted a report and that the talks in the United Arab Emirates had been completed.
Emphasizing that many issues were discussed and that the constructive nature of the talks was of great importance, Zelenskyy noted that military representatives from all three sides also took part in the negotiations.
Stating that possible parameters for ending the war were at the center of the talks, Zelenskyy said: “I highly value the understanding of the need for US monitoring and oversight in the process of ending the war and ensuring real security.”
Zelenskyy added that the US side also raised possible formats for formalizing the parameters for ending the war and the necessary security conditions, saying:
“As a result of the meetings held over these days, all sides agreed to submit reports to their capitals on each topic of the negotiations and to coordinate next steps with their leaders. Military representatives identified a list of issues to be addressed at a possible next meeting. If there is the will to make progress — and Ukraine is ready for this — new meetings could be held as early as next week. After the delegation’s return, I expect to receive a direct briefing from them.”
Zelenskyy said: “Ukraine is working for peace and security. I thank everyone who is contributing.”
