Tsahkna: The EU has extended sanctions against Belarus
Tallinn, February 26 (Hibya) – Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna announced that the European Union has extended its sanctions against Belarus.
Tsahkna stated that the European Union’s decision was taken due to the repressive policies of Alexander Lukashenko’s administration, hybrid attacks, and its support for Russia’s war against Ukraine.
Emphasizing that pressure on Russia and other co-aggressors will continue, Tsahkna said efforts will persist to close loopholes in the sanctions, strengthen enforcement, and further limit Moscow’s war capacity.
Tsahkna also noted that additional steps are expected under the EU’s 20th sanctions package.
