Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna made remarks on the war in Ukraine ahead of the United Nations Security Council meeting. Tsahkna said that Ukraine accepted a full and unconditional ceasefire in March 2025, while Russia has not yet taken the same step.

Tsahkna said that together with Andrii Sybiha, Kaja Kallas, Jean-Noel Barrot and other counterparts, he made a call supported by 51 UN member states, stating, “Russia must end its aggression, accept the ceasefire and negotiate for a just and lasting peace.”

Tsahkna said that Russia must return the Ukrainian children it deported and also called on it to stop threatening maritime traffic in the Black Sea and the global food supply.
