Tsahkna: Estonia’s support for Ukraine is unwavering
Tallinn, December 29 (Hibya) – Estonia’s Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna discussed the latest developments in the process toward a just and lasting peace in Ukraine and security guarantees in a phone call with his Ukrainian counterpart Andrii Sybiha.
Estonia’s Foreign Minister Tsahkna held a телефон call with Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Sybiha. The conversation reviewed the latest developments toward a just and lasting peace in Ukraine, as well as security guarantees to prevent renewed attacks.
In his statement on the call, Tsahkna said Estonia’s support for Ukraine continues, adding: “Estonia’s support for Ukraine is unwavering.”
Sybiha, for his part, stressed the importance of strengthening Ukraine’s air defenses, ensuring additional weapons supplies, and maintaining strong sanctions to keep up international pressure on Russia. He also said these steps are necessary to preserve Ukraine’s resilience.
The call also touched on the European Council’s decision to provide Ukraine with €90 billion in financial support for 2026–2027, and the European Union’s decision to keep frozen Russian assets blocked until Russia ends the war and pays compensation to Ukraine.
