US President Donald Trump emphasized that there is no information indicating that Iran has placed mines in the strait, but if such a situation exists, the mines must be removed immediately.

Trump noted that if mines have been placed for any reason and are not removed immediately, the military consequences for Iran will be at an unprecedented level.

Trump also stated that if the mines that may have been placed are removed, it would be a major step in the right direction and said:

"We are also using the same technology and missile capabilities used against drug traffickers to permanently neutralize any boat or ship attempting to place mines in the Strait of Hormuz.

Those who attempt to do so will face a swift and severe response."
