U.S. President Donald Trump commented on the strikes against Iran, saying that nearly all targets had been neutralized and calling the operation “successful.”

Responding to a question about whether the attack had been initiated by Israel, Trump said that during negotiations he saw that Iran was planning to carry out the first strike and that the United States acted to prevent it. Trump stated, “If we had not attacked, Iran would have attacked us.”

President Trump added that measures were taken to protect civilians during the strike and that the operation was conducted in a “more appropriate yet firm” manner compared to the attacks carried out by Israel. He also noted that the number of missiles was gradually decreasing and that no air detection point had been identified.
