United States President Donald Trump made striking allegations on social media regarding the assets of Democratic House member Ilhan Omar and called for an immediate investigation.

President Trump said Omar had recently reported assets worth $30 million, but then immediately corrected that figure to $100,000. Emphasizing that this sudden change was suspicious, Trump claimed that the amount in question could be linked to proceeds from certain irregularities in Minnesota.
Drawing attention to the increase in Ilhan Omar’s assets and her standard of living, Trump said:
"She must have gone crazy when she saw that money! Where does her house come from, where do her cars come from, and what about that beautiful place in Washington, D.C.? I didn’t know members of Congress made this kind of money, but I do know that her husband makes almost nothing."

Continuing his remarks, Trump also addressed immigration policies and said it should be investigated whether Omar had illegally brought people into the country from Somalia, stating: "America wants answers, and we want those answers now."
