Tajani: I condemn Russia's attacks on Ukraine
Rome, October 8 (Hibya) - Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani condemned Russia's attacks on Ukraine, stating that dozens of people, most of them civilians, had been killed in the attacks.
Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani condemned Russia's ongoing attacks on Ukraine. Tajani stated that the attacks targeted Kyiv and 12 other regions, killing dozens of people, most of whom were civilians.
Tajani said that 22 people had been killed in an attack on an apartment building in Chernihiv, arguing that the targeting of energy infrastructure and residential areas in particular demonstrated Russia's unwillingness to pursue negotiations.
Tajani warned that the attacks could further worsen conditions for the Ukrainian people ahead of winter and expressed his condolences to the families of those killed, as well as his sympathy for the injured and their families.
Tajani stated that the Italian government would continue to stand by Kyiv and work to create the conditions for a just and lasting peace based on respect for Ukraine's sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity.
