Rome, October 17 (Hibya) - Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani condemned acts of violence and vandalism in several Italian cities, particularly Milan, Bologna and Turin. Tajani stated that attacks against security forces are unacceptable and expressed solidarity with law enforcement officers.
Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani commented on incidents of violence that occurred during protests held in various cities across the country.
In a post on his social media account, Tajani stated that the right and freedom to demonstrate are fundamental rights, but emphasized that the right of all citizens to security and the right of security personnel not to be attacked are equally important.
Tajani described the acts of violence and vandalism in Milan, Bologna and Turin, as well as in other cities where protests took place, as completely unacceptable, stressing that such actions must be condemned.
Tajani also accused part of the opposition of fueling violent street protests, claiming that this was an attempt to compensate for a lack of ideas and proposals.
Expressing solidarity with security forces, Tajani emphasized that law enforcement officers carry out their duties to protect everyone's rights, including those of nonviolent demonstrators, and to maintain security in cities.
