Support from Ukraine to Türkiye: We do not forget, we stand with you
Ankara, 6 February (Hibya) – The Embassy of Ukraine in Ankara published a message on the anniversary of the earthquakes that occurred in Türkiye on 6 February 2023.
In the earthquakes of magnitude 7.7 and 7.6, centered in Kahramanmaraş and affecting 11 provinces on 6 February 2023, 53,537 people lost their lives and 107,213 people were injured.
In its statement issued on the anniversary of the earthquakes, the Embassy of Ukraine in Ankara stated that it shares Türkiye’s pain, saying: “We commemorate those who lost their lives with respect and mercy, and we wish patience and strength to their relatives. We do not forget. We stand with you, Türkiye.”
The statement noted that today is one of the most sorrowful days on the calendar, adding: “In the three years since the 6 February earthquakes, cities have been rebuilt; the Turkish state has made an extraordinary effort to heal the wounds with great dedication, determination, and a spirit of solidarity.”
