Spanish Foreign Minister Albares announced that the staff and the ambassador of the Spanish Embassy in Tehran were safely evacuated. Minister Albares said, “Our ambassador and the essential personnel who remained in Tehran safely arrived after crossing the Azerbaijan border.”

The minister emphasized that the safety of Spanish citizens and foreign service personnel is a priority. He also stated that other Spanish embassies in the region and the crisis center continue to operate fully on a 24-hour basis.

Albares said, “We continue our efforts without interruption to protect Spaniards.”
