Selling pressure dominates futures markets
Istanbul, October 22 (Hibya) - Global stock index futures, which reflect expectations for upcoming trading sessions, showed a predominantly bearish and uncertain trend ahead of the new trading day. Investors' profit-taking and cautious positioning caused futures contracts to trade mostly in negative territory.
Among US futures, the technology-heavy US Tech 100 futures contract recorded a notable decline of 1.34 percent. US 500 futures fell 0.64 percent, while US 30 futures dropped 0.33 percent. Meanwhile, S&P 500 VIX futures, which reflect expectations of future volatility, rose 2.81 percent to 18.75.
In European index futures, Germany's DAX futures declined 0.59 percent, while the UK's FTSE 100 futures fell 0.41 percent. In contrast, Italy's FTSE MIB futures gained 0.99 percent and France's CAC 40 futures advanced 0.74 percent, defying the broader negative sentiment.
