Regional Consultation Center of the Dobrich Bar Association opened in Bulgaria
Sofia, 3 December (Hibya) – Bulgaria’s Deputy Minister of Justice, Mihaela Mechkunova, together with the Chair of the National Legal Aid Bureau (NLAB), Nataliya Ilieva, attended the opening ceremony of the Regional Consultation Center (RCC) affiliated with the Dobrich Bar Association.

The Ministry of Justice stated that lawyers from the Dobrich Bar will provide free legal consultations to individuals from vulnerable social groups according to a set schedule.
The statement added that in recent months, new centers were opened in Ruse and Burgas, and with today's opening in Dobrich, the total number of such centers across the country has reached 27. During her speech, Deputy Minister Mechkunova said: “The opening of this center is a decisive step in national efforts to uphold the rule of law, protect fundamental human rights guaranteed by international and national legislation, and expand access to justice.”
Mechkunova further emphasized: “In recent years, combating domestic violence has become a central priority in state policies. Today, we can speak of a strong legislative framework, clear mechanisms of prevention and protection, and concrete tools that offer real support to victims.”
She concluded: “The Ministry of Justice will continue to treat this issue as an unconditional priority. It is our collective duty to remain vigilant until domestic violence ceases to be a systemic problem and becomes a rare, isolated incident.”
