Doha, June 25 (Hibya) – Qatar participated in the sixth meeting of the Joint Oversight Committee on the peace process between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda, held in London.

During the meeting held on June 25, 2026, representatives of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda, together with Qatar, the United States, Togo, and the African Union Commission, reaffirmed their commitment to implementing the previously signed peace agreement.
The meeting focused on reducing the long-running conflict in eastern Congo, strengthening the ceasefire, and improving the security situation. The participants expressed concern over violence affecting civilians and the humanitarian risks in the region, stressing the need for urgent steps to ensure the effective implementation of the ceasefire.
The committee also reviewed ways to strengthen verification and monitoring mechanisms and enhance security coordination. The parties supporting the peace process emphasized the importance of continuing diplomatic efforts.
It was noted that Qatar continues to play a facilitating and supportive role in the peace process and remains committed to contributing to regional stability.
