Prevot: Hate speech must be rejected under all circumstances
Brussels, December 28 (Hibya) – Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot reacted to statements targeting the Tutsi community made by General Ekenge, spokesperson of the Congolese army.
Belgian Foreign Minister Prevot said he was deeply shocked by the statements targeting the Tutsi community made by General Ekenge, spokesperson of the Congolese army.
Stressing that it is absolutely unacceptable for an official to make such remarks, Prevot stated that he strongly condemns Ekenge’s statements.
Prevot emphasized that hate speech must be rejected under all circumstances, saying: “National reconciliation can only be built on an inclusive, non-exclusionary approach that embraces all communities.”
