Political consultation round between Palestine and the Netherlands
The Hague, January 31 (Hibya) – The sixth round of political consultations between Palestine and the Netherlands was held.
The Undersecretary for Political Affairs of the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Dr. Omar Awadallah, and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands for Political Affairs, Marcel de Vink, led the sixth round of political consultations between Palestine and the Netherlands.
Undersecretary Awadallah reported to the Dutch side on the latest political and field developments and emphasized that a genuine peace plan could only be achieved if the Israeli occupation of all Palestinian territories is ended and the Palestinian people are able to realize their rights, as guaranteed by international law, especially the right to self-determination.
Awadallah called on the incoming Dutch government to recognize the State of Palestine as a key step towards realizing a two-state solution. He also urged the Dutch side to increase efforts within the European Union framework to end the Israeli occupation and achieve a two-state solution in line with relevant international resolutions and frameworks.
The two sides also discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between their countries in various areas.
Ambassador de Vink confirmed his country's commitment to working towards the implementation of the two-state solution, noting that the Netherlands is ready to work with all international partners and through all multilateral frameworks to ensure stability in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
