Czech President Pavel said it is extremely important that the European Council has reached an agreement on financial assistance for Ukraine.

Stressing that Russia’s aggressive war has severely worn down the country, Pavel added: “The support we provide is vital for Ukraine’s survival. At the same time, this support is a forward-looking investment in the security of Europe and the Czech Republic.”

Pavel said: “For this reason, I believe it would be right to show that together with other Europeans we are able to assume our share of responsibility and provide assurances for the future of our continent.”
