Pakistan Prime Minister Sharif held a phone call with Qatar's Emir Al Thani
Islamabad, June 24 (Hibya) - Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that he held a telephone conversation with Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and thanked Qatar for its support of the peace efforts that resulted in the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif made remarks regarding the details of his conversation with Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the diplomatic process, and bilateral relations.
Referring to the progress in negotiations and Qatar’s role, Sharif said, “I thanked His Highness for Qatar’s unwavering support for the peace efforts that culminated in the historic Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.”
Providing information on the agreed issues, Sharif stated, “We expressed our satisfaction with the positive progress achieved during the first round of technical talks in Bürgenstock and agreed on the importance of maintaining this momentum through continued dialogue and diplomacy.”
Sharif also referred to a tragic incident in Qatar and the human ties between the two countries, concluding: “I also thanked His Highness for his kind condolences following the death of a Pakistani national in the recent fire incident in Ras Laffan and expressed my deep appreciation to the Qatari leadership for its generous hospitality toward the vibrant Pakistani community in Qatar.”
