Netanyahu: Ra’amgate is a shock to Israeli democracy
Tel Aviv, October 29 (Hibya) - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in a statement issued by the Likud Party, alleged that the incident dubbed "Ra’amgate" involved claims of election interference and argued that no Zionist party should cooperate with Ra’am and the Joint List.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu shared a statement issued by the Likud Party. The statement described the incident known as "Ra’amgate" as a major shock and alleged that elections in Israel had been stolen. It also claimed that Judge Solberg's remarks concerning interference by foreign actors and the bribery of voters in favor of Arab parties represented an unprecedented development.
The statement argued that the allegations amounted to an attack on Israeli democracy and claimed that the objectives were to enable foreign powers to gain control over the Knesset, Islamize Israel and bring down the right-wing government. It further alleged that this could lead to the withdrawal and defeat of the Israeli military on various fronts, particularly against Iran.
In its statement, Likud argued that no Zionist party should cooperate with Ra’am and the Joint List following allegations that foreign actors were attempting to influence the Knesset. The party also opposed replacing the Speaker of the Knesset through votes allegedly purchased with cash and forming a government it described as dangerous for Israel.
