In equities, both gains and declines drew attention. KKR & Co. rose 6.88 percent to $110.97, Axon Enterprise gained 6.70 percent to $636.31, while MercadoLibre climbed 6.34 percent to $1,940.

On the other hand, Amentum Holdings fell 8.22 percent to $22.43. AppLovin lost 5.99 percent to trade at $318.68, while Ventas declined 5.43 percent to $86.96.

Movement in technology and growth stocks was particularly notable in the markets, while selling pressure stood out in precious metals.

Although AppLovin's revenue in its second-quarter results announced on August 5 showed strong year-over-year growth, the sharp move in its share price highlights investors' sensitivity to expectations.
