Metsola: The Iranian people deserve to be free
Brussels, January 19 (Hibya) – European Parliament President Roberta Metsola emphasized that the Iranian people need freedom, not silence.
European Parliament President Roberta Metsola made a statement on the situation in Iran and the Iranian people’s struggle for freedom.
Clearly stating the European Parliament’s position, Metsola said: “The European Parliament honors the courage of those who lost their lives in Iran not with silence, but with applause. The Iranian people do not need silence.”
Noting that the Iranian people have long been under repression, Metsola added: “They have been forcibly silenced for 47 years. They deserve to be free.”
