German Chancellor Friedrich Merz emphasized that the war in Ukraine must end, expressing their intention to make progress in using frozen Russian state assets to bring Moscow to the negotiating table.

Referring to his meeting with Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob, Merz noted that both countries share the same view on this matter. He thanked Golob for his visit and highlighted the importance of cooperation in ending the war through diplomatic means.

In his statement, Friedrich Merz stressed that international efforts to establish peace and involve Russia in the negotiation process will continue with determination.
