Rome, October 2 (Hibya) - Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni announced that the government had approved its first National Plan addressing frailty and care dependency among the elderly population, with more than 1.5 billion euros allocated to the plan.

In a statement on her social media account, Meloni said more than 1.5 billion euros had been allocated to the plan.
The plan was said to cover care and support particularly for people over the age of 70 who are unable to manage their daily lives independently. According to a statement from the Italian government, the plan aims to strengthen home care services, make access to services easier and increase the number of personnel working in social and healthcare services.
It was also reported that the plan approved provisions concerning housing models in which elderly people can live together with people from different generations.
