U.S. equity-focused mutual funds generally posted a negative performance. Funds tracking the broad market and the S&P 500 recorded modest losses, while money market funds maintained their stable performance.

Vanguard Total Stock Market Index Instl Plus (VSMPX), which tracks the overall U.S. stock market, declined 0.20 percent to $336.85. Similarly, Vanguard Total Stock Market Index Admiral (VTSAX) fell 0.19 percent to trade at $179.54.

Funds tracking the S&P 500 also posted limited losses. Vanguard 500 Index Admiral (VFIAX) slipped 0.14 percent to $692.25, while Fidelity 500 Index Institutional Premium (FXAIX) declined 0.13 percent to $260.64. Vanguard Institutional Index Instl Plus (VIIIX) also fell 0.13 percent to $600.44.

Vanguard Total International Stock Index Fund (VGTSX), which invests in international markets, dropped 0.88 percent to $26.88, marking one of the steepest declines on the list. Among actively managed funds, Fidelity Contrafund (FCNTX) and Fidelity Contrafund K (FCNKX) both declined 0.61 percent to $26.16 and $26.28, respectively.

Meanwhile, Fidelity Government Money Market Fund (SPAXX) and Fidelity Government Cash Reserves (FDRXX), which invest in cash and short-term government securities, remained unchanged at $1.000.

The performance of the fund market showed that selling pressure in equity markets had also spread to index funds, while low-risk money market funds continued to deliver stable performance.
