Lahbib: More than 100 thousand people displaced in Lebanon due to clashes
Brussels, March 7 (Hibya) - European Union (EU) Commissioner for Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib stated that more than 100 thousand people have been displaced from Beirut and southern regions of Lebanon due to the recent clashes.
EU Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management Lahbib said that the recent clashes in Lebanon have led to a serious humanitarian crisis.
Announcing that more than 100 thousand people have been displaced from Beirut and southern regions, Lahbib said: “The EU supports interventions aimed at emergency health services, shelter and food assistance.”
Lahbib also emphasized the need to comply with international law, stating: “I call for respect for international humanitarian law and the protection of civilians.”
