Lahbib: International humanitarian law must be respected in Sudan
Brussels, 29 September (Hibya) - European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Hadja Lahbib said at the United Nations General Assembly Ministerial Meeting on Sudan that international humanitarian law must be respected.
European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Hadja Lahbib announced that she represented the European Union at the United Nations General Assembly Ministerial Meeting on Sudan.
Lahbib stated that international humanitarian law is violated every day in Sudan, stressing that attacks against civilians, the use of starvation as a method of warfare and acts of sexual violence must not go unanswered. Lahbib added that those responsible must be held accountable.
