Lahbib: EU Humanitarian Air Bridge is being sent to the Democratic Republic of the Congo
Brussels, September 11 (Hibya) - EU Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib said the flight carrying 90 metric tons of medical aid to the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo was ready for takeoff.
EU Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib said the aid sent under the EU Humanitarian Air Bridge would be used to combat the Ebola outbreak.
Providing information about the aid shipment, Lahbib said: “Ready for takeoff: the EU Humanitarian Air Bridge flight is carrying 90 metric tons of vital supplies to the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo.”
Lahbib concluded her statement by saying: “On board are medicines and medical supplies that will help combat what is already the deadliest Ebola outbreak on record.”
