Jetten meets with Ethiopian Prime Minister Ahmed Ali
Amsterdam, May 6 (Hibya) – Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten discussed bilateral relations and global developments, particularly trade, sustainable development and migration, during his meeting with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali.

During the meeting, cooperation between Ethiopia and the Netherlands in the fields of trade, sustainable development and migration was discussed. It was emphasized that relations between the two countries are deep-rooted and close.
It was noted that this year marks the 100th anniversary of trade relations between the two countries, while the Netherlands was described as Ethiopia’s largest export market and also its largest European investor. It was stated that more than 100 Dutch companies operate in Ethiopia, particularly in the agricultural sector.
The parties were said to expect increased cooperation, particularly in the field of climate. During the meeting, best wishes were also conveyed to Abiy Ahmed Ali for the COP32 organization to be held in 2027.
The meeting also addressed the global effects of developments in the Strait of Hormuz and their impact on the two countries.
