The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) issued a statement regarding the shooting attack that took place near Giv'at Gilad in the Samaria Brigade's area of responsibility.

The IDF said that earlier in the day, troops were dispatched to the scene after receiving a report of an attack targeting Israeli civilians who were in the area near the village of Tel.

According to the statement, the attackers stole the weapon of a security officer who arrived at the scene and then opened fire on Israeli civilians. Several injured people were evacuated to hospital.

The Israeli military also announced that reinforcements had been deployed to the area, a large-scale manhunt and roadblock operation had been launched to apprehend the attackers, and that the city of Nablus and the village of Tel had been placed under encirclement.
