Hezbollah announces opposition to Lebanon-Israel framework agreement
Mahmoud Komati, Deputy Chairman of Hezbollah's Political Council, said the group would oppose the framework agreement signed between Lebanon and Israel and would seek to prevent its implementation through political and practical means.
According to CCTV, Mahmoud Komati, Deputy Chairman of Hezbollah's Political Council, said in an interview with Lebanon's Al-Jadeed TV that the group had opposed the U.S.-mediated agreement from the outset, rejected the negotiation process that led to it, and described the process as "a flawed approach."
Komati said Hezbollah does not plan to call its supporters into the streets or take steps that would escalate tensions. He argued that the agreement is not implementable, cannot be imposed on the Lebanese people, and that the process will ultimately fail on its own.
Komati described the agreement as "humiliating" and "surrenderist," adding that there are two different approaches in Lebanon: one based on negotiations and agreements pursued by the official authorities, and another based on the resistance's struggle on the ground.
He also stressed that Israel's withdrawal from Lebanese territory should not be linked to any domestic political issue and called for Israel's unconditional withdrawal from Lebanese territory.
