Deniz polisinden Adalar çevresinde 'deniz taksi' denetimi

Federica Mogherini, the former EU High Representative, was arrested during police raids conducted as part of an anti-fraud investigation that sent shockwaves through Brussels.

Mogherini was among three suspects questioned after Belgian authorities searched the European External Action Service (EEAS), the College of Europe in Bruges, and several private homes on Tuesday morning.

Mogherini served as the head of the EEAS and led the EU’s foreign policy between 2014 and 2019. She has been serving as rector of the College of Europe, a prestigious EU-funded university, since September 2020.

The second detainee is Stefano Sannino, a prominent senior EU official who served as secretary-general of the EEAS between 2021 and 2024.

According to Le Soir, the third person is an administrator at the College of Europe.

The institution stated: “The College of Europe will fully cooperate with the authorities in the name of transparency and respect for the investigation process.”

“The College remains committed to the highest standards of integrity, fairness and compliance in both academic and administrative matters, and is taking all necessary measures to ensure continuity of its activities.”
