Fletcher: The war in the Middle East also affects humanitarian aid supply
New York, March 14 (Hibya) - United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Tom Fletcher said that the effects of wars are not limited only to the front lines.
Tom Fletcher stated that the impacts of wars are not limited to the front lines and explained that rising fuel costs, disrupted maritime transport, and closed routes in the Middle East are slowing humanitarian aid supply chains.
UN Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Fletcher said this situation puts the delivery of life-saving assistance at risk.
Fletcher also emphasized that cargo carrying humanitarian aid should be allowed to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
