EU to recruit 750 staff with a salary of 6,000 euros
Brussels, February 18 (Hibya) – Brussels is opening the door to one of Europe’s most sought-after careers. After a seven-year break, the European Personnel Selection Office (EPSO) has relaunched the AD5 competition, the main entry route to permanent positions at the European Commission.
An estimated 50,000 to 60,000 people are expected to take the EPSO exam for 1,490 reserve list positions. Around 750 candidates will secure permanent roles.
The job offers a starting monthly salary of up to 6,758 euros and long-term security, which is why 50,000 to 60,000 applications are anticipated.
Applicants must pass demanding online tests covering reasoning, EU knowledge, digital skills, and policy writing.
This recruitment effort coincides with Commission President Ursula von der Leyen’s focus on nurturing the next generation. Many senior officials are approaching retirement, and institutions aim to strengthen their digital skills.
Applications are open until March 10, and successful candidates may start within two years.
