Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun commented on China-Malaysia relations at the regular press conference.

Guo said China and Malaysia are good neighbors, good friends and good partners, noting that over the more than 50 years since diplomatic relations were established, bilateral ties have continued to develop positively and progress has been made in cooperation across various fields. Guo said the two countries are jointly building a high-standard strategic China-Malaysia community with a shared future.

Guo said Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s participation in the World Skills Competition and the Global Digital Trade Expo reflects both the close and friendly ties in China-Malaysia relations and the cooperation carried out in the relevant fields.

Guo said China hopes to strengthen the alignment of development strategies with Malaysia and advance high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, adding that they expect communication and coordination on international and regional issues to be enhanced and new progress to be made in building a high-standard strategic China-Malaysia community with a shared future.

The 48th World Skills Competition will be held in Shanghai from September 22 to 27, while the 5th Global Digital Trade Expo will take place in Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang Province. Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim will also attend the opening ceremonies of both events at China’s invitation.
