Dutch Prime Minister Jetten and leaders of 4 countries stress security and defense in EU budget
Amsterdam, September 18 (Hibya) - Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten said he co-authored a joint opinion piece with the leaders of Denmark, Germany, Austria and Finland on the European Union's (EU) Multiannual Financial Framework, arguing that the budget should be used in a more targeted way with a focus on security, defense and the EU's competitiveness.
Dutch Prime Minister Jetten said he prepared a joint opinion piece on the European Union's Multiannual Financial Framework with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker and Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo.
In a post on his social media account, Jetten said they discussed priorities for the EU's next budget period.
Jetten said in his post:
“Together with my colleagues Mette Frederiksen, Friedrich Merz, Christian Stocker and Petteri Orpo, we wrote an opinion piece on our priorities for the European Union's Multiannual Financial Framework: let us spend money in a more targeted way and focus on security, defense and the EU's competitiveness.”
Jetten said the joint opinion piece included priorities regarding the use of the European Union's budget resources.
