Cooper: We need new momentum for the two-state solution and peace
Paris, June 12 (Hibya) - UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper met with her French and Canadian counterparts in Paris and emphasized the need for renewed diplomatic momentum to advance peace in the Middle East and revive the vision of a two-state solution.
UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper highlighted the importance of engagement with civil society and international partners to end the cycle of conflict in the region and achieve lasting stability.
Referring to her meetings in Paris and the newly established fund, Cooper said, "It was good to be in Paris today with Jean-Noel Barrot and Anita Anand. Following yesterday’s announcement of our new International Peace Fund, we met with Palestinian and Israeli groups."
Sending a message of commitment to the peace process, Cooper concluded her remarks by saying, "We need new momentum for the two-state solution and for peace and security for Israelis and Palestinians."
